Dr. Teri Rouse
Dr. Teri Rouse is an early and behavior interventionist, autism and reading specialist, educational coach and consultant, with 30 years of experience with children and adults from Pre-K through higher education. She is a passionate educator who has not only taught individuals of all ages, but is also an outstanding international speaker as well as an international multiple best-selling author, offering her varied expertise to the global community.
Because of her own life experiences, her love of learning and a passion for helping families, she made it her mission to empower parents to restore peace in their home through a variety of techniques and strategies for improving communication and creating peaceful environments at home and school.
Working with students and private clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, she developed, implemented and customized positive behavior interventions. She created the REAL Peaceful Parenting Framework based on her most effective and successful strategies and techniques. ‘Dr. Teri has also developed a program for young adults called Braver Than You Believe, which is a blueprint to guide young people to overcome fear and worry, gain confidence and discover their inner strength.
Dr. Rouse recently presented at the Women Changing the World Conference Summit in London and Paris speaking about improving communication at home, work and school and building stronger relationships through active listening, mindful communication and positive attention. She even had the opportunity to meet Her Grace, the Duchess of York and to connect with Dr. Tererai Trent, a special guest on the Oprah Winfrey show, who is rebuilding schools in her native country of Zimbabwe. They are partnering to bring children’s literature to the schools in rural Zimbabwe through Snuggle Bunny Story Time.
As a DISES member, Dr. Rouse enthusiastically presented her work at the DISES International Conference in Panama, June 2024. She inspired the attendees with her presentation on creating “pop- up libraries” as a collaborative community project in several under- resourced elementary schools to promote a love of literacy among young learners.
In one of her most recent best-selling books, Untamed Chaos: A Parent’s Guide to Improving Communication, Resolving Conflict, and Restoring Peace in Your Home, Dr. Teri shares REAL Peaceful Parenting, her proven framework to help families cultivate the resilience to weather the storms; become empowered to make best choices; help children build autonomy; and foster better communication and conflict-resolution to improve quality of family life and come out with a more peaceful home.
