DISES President’s Letter – October 2026

Dear DISES Members,
As I travel, connect with colleagues around the world, and engage in conversations with educators, families, researchers, and advocates, I am reminded that our work is fundamentally about belonging. While policies, practices, and programs matter, lasting change occurs when individuals feel valued, respected, and included in the communities where they live, learn, volunteer, and work.

Our members represent different cultures, languages, educational systems, and professional experiences, yet we are united by a shared commitment to improving opportunities and outcomes through accessible and inclusive practices. Through research, professional development, service, advocacy, and collaboration, we continue to learn from one another and strengthen our collective impact.

Last month, the DISES Executive Board met for our quarterly Board meeting. As we shared updates and discussed priorities for the remainder of the year, I was encouraged by the dedication, creativity, and collaborative spirit of our Board members.

As we move toward our final Board meeting of the year in December, I encourage each of you to stay engaged by participating in a Sip and Chat, sharing your research, nominating a colleague for an award, serving in a leadership role, or joining us in Morocco. No contribution is too big or too small.

Thank you for all you do to advance inclusive practices.
With Much Appreciation,
Nicci
