DISES President's Message - January 2026

Happy New Year, DISES Community!

I am honored and excited to begin my term as President of the Division of International Special Education and Services (DISES) in 2026. As the first African American President of DISES, this milestone underscores the importance of representation in leadership and the power of collaboration across borders and cultures. My hope is that it inspires others to see what is possible when we work together for inclusive education worldwide.

DISES is committed to advancing knowledge exchange, collaboration, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities across the globe. We serve as a catalyst for international communication and cooperation, promoting progress in inclusive education and services for children with disabilities and those with gifts and talents. Through research, professional development, and global networks, DISES fosters partnerships that create lasting impact.
